Prioritizing Your Wellness During the Week
It can be easy to completely put your wellness to the side during the week. If you work a 9-5 or the night shift, most of the time the first thing you want to do when you get home is eat and go to bed. However, it’s so important to dedicate a few minutes to yourself each day. How can you turn #SelfCareSunday into a daily occurrence? See below for a few ways to maintain your wellness during the week.
Let us know what you’re doing to prioritize your wellness in the comments!
When you wake up in the morning, make a list of everything you’re grateful for. We’ve recently started doing this and we’ve noticed a difference in how it makes us feel when you just can’t deal on those early Monday mornings! It can be so easy to take things for granted, so starting your day thinking about everything you’re thankful for can be a great mood booster.
I’m not going to get too deep into this, since we have a whole blog post about this, but meditating for 5-10 minutes when you’re able to can make such a difference. It can relieve stress and keep you calm. If you haven’t tried it yet, definitely give it a chance!
Once you make working out during the week a priority, it’ll be easy to find the time to do it. Personally, I like to work out in the morning before work. Even though it can be difficult to wake up early, it always puts me in a good mood afterwards and I don’t have to think about it at the end of my work day. If you’d like to socialize more, you should definitely search for group fitness classes in your area.
The time you put into cooking your favorite meal is a great way to practice self-care and wellness during the week. After all, we are what we put into our bodies. Taking a few minutes to prepare something that will fuel your body with all the necessary ingredients or satisfy a craving can make you feel so good.
