How to Stick to "New Year, New You" Plans

The start of a new year always feels like a fresh start. Whether you're looking to try something new or break an old habit, "new year, new you," zone is initiated the minute the clock strikes 12 o'clock on January 1. Not only is it a time of reflection, but for many that means the beginning of new year's resolutions. Don't be so hard on yourself! The insane amount of pressure that goes into resolutions is what sometimes causes people to decide to just forget about it and try again the next year. Keep your goal in mind and keep swimming.

It's Mantra Time

Bigger isn't always better. Sometimes breaking your huge goals into smaller chunks can make it more attainable. For example, if your goal is to lose a large amount of weight, breaking it into checkpoints that you can reach throughout the year will help to make it not seem so daunting.
