What We're Reading: The Regulars by Georgia Clark

I’m happy to say I’ve been keeping up with my mission to read more fiction books! As you may have seen, I started out with The Husband’s Secret (A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!), so I wanted to go with something light this time around. Thankfully, I found a book that delivered.

I came across The Regulars: A Novel by Georgia Clark at my job- freebies FTW- and I was drawn into the story of these twentysomething best friends from the very first page. Evie, Krista and Willow are just trying to make it in New York City when they come across Pretty, a potion that makes them, well, pretty and suddenly opens doors for them. Through a wild journey of highs and lows, the friends learn that having “the look” isn’t all what it’s hyped up to be and that real beauty is more than skin deep.

I get my reading done during my commute to and from work, and I definitely enjoyed each subway ride more than I previously had because of The Regulars. Besides that fact that it gives you something to think about, it’s actually really funny! I found myself laughing so much while reading this book and it’s not just because of witty characters. The ladies go through some pretty hilarious moments while trying to navigate their new lives. Readers also really get to know each one of the girls. Krista, Willow and Evie are three different people experiencing different things, but you also get to understand their bond as friends.

If you’re in the mood for a light and entertaining read, I highly recommend The Regulars. I could honestly see it becoming a movie in the future, so be sure to read the book first!

Let me know what books you’re reading!
