The Power of Vision Boards
I remember learning about vision boards while watching The Secret, a film about the power of positive thinking and the law of attraction, when I was around 13 years old. From that point on, I knew it was something I would commit to for the rest of my life.
Vision boards serve as a reminder of your goals and aspirations in life. For me, it was about seeing my ambition and dreams in a visual form. Writing down your goals is effective as well, but I've found that taking the time to create my board gives me the boost I need. Seeing #GIRLBOSS on my board compared to writing "Become a CEO" in my journal adds such a different perspective and it simply gets me excited.
Creating a vision board has also been an instrumental part of my visualizations. I look at my board every morning and reflect on why I work so hard and what that will eventually lead to. It also reminds me of the things that really matter in life. It's perfectly fine to have an image of the Range Rover you've always wanted (me!), but reflecting on family and people that support you feels just as great.
With that being said, I encourage you to try creating your own! I use a cork board, but a poster board works fine. I usually cut out images from magazines that exemplify all of my biggest dreams- words, quotes, and photos make appearances on my board. I also print out images if I can't find the one I'm looking for. Lastly, have fun while doing it! It shouldn't be something that stresses you out, just don't overthink it.
Go for it and let us know how it goes!
